Student housing is generally located within close proximity to the campus. When a student confirms that they will be attending school, the Administrative staff members on the island of Xavier University School of Medicine, Bonaire have the task of finding appropriate housing to meet the needs of the students. Each semester, the Administrative staff seeks a number of housing locations that vary in price, style and amenities offered. Students certainly have the option of finding suitable housing on their own, but the staff is always available to assist students as much as they can as they pursue living accommodations. Once a student arrives to Bonaire and is picked up from the airport by our Administrative staff, they will be taken to a hotel for an overnight stay, and the following day the Administrative staff will take the students to view the available accommodations.
Housing in Bonaire ranges from $600-$1,500 per month depending on the size of the apartment. The location of the apartment will be the key determining factor of the monthly costs; where an apartment near the waterfront will be more expensive as compared to housing more inland. A popular option for students is to room with another student(s) to save costs.
Most of the apartments are privately owned, so the majority of apartments will be rented out by landlords and will be furnished with the basic essentials such as kitchen utensils, beds, linen, air conditioning, fans, refrigerator and a microwave. Internet and cable television may be available depending on the landlord, and if it is not available it is something that can be purchased in Bonaire.
Once you have been accepted and your seat deposit of $1,900.00 has been received by the Ohio Admissions office, the password to see what housing available will be provided.
Please note that hotel reservations are made by the student. If students need assistance with booking a hotel room, help will be given. Hotel fees are the responsibility of the students.
