Xavier University School of Medicine, Bonaire is chartered by Minister of education, Netherlands Antilles. The charter establishes the right for the University to award MD degree for the students who successfully complete the approved curriculum by the university.

International Medical Education Directory (IMED) is a division of the United States of America's Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Xavier University School of Medicine, Bonaire is recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), so their students and graduates are eligible to apply and sit for any step of the USMLE, in fulfillment of the ECFMG Certification requirements for a U.S. residency position.
